Step into Limehouse Wharf, the new, uber-luxury apartment building in Canary Wharf. Here celebrities who have had ‘work’ done can hole up until they have healed. And which is about to see its most glamorous and scandalous Christmas yet.
Staying there over the festive period is Melody Down, an actress whose career is in tatters after too much plastic surgery and who has fled LA to get her body and her boyfriend back. But is a ‘well-meaning’ friend about to sabotage all of Melody’s Christmas wishes? Meanwhile, Aniela Jasicki, the nurse in residence, finds herself falling for the unlikely Jon Jordan, an assassin for hire who is also convalescing there.
Will her feelings be reciprocated or will their sizzling relationship remain purely physical? And who is he on the run from? And then there’s oligarch Grigor Khalofsky. The owner of Kensington football team, whose legendary Christmas party is about to get a whole lot more exciting when murder, blackmail and scandalous revelations decide to pay a visit along with Santa.
Set over Christmas and New Year this really is the perfect book for this time of year.
It’s Soprano’s meets Sex and The City. When you step through the doors of Limehouse Reach this Winter and meet the residents & guests of the apartments.
Rebecca Chance has created a wonderful mix of characters as you‘re introduced to wealthy Grigor Khalofsky & his estranged wife Dasha. Actress Melody Dale who’s broken hearted and trying to get her life back on track. Nurse Aniela Jasicki and her patient/lover Jon Jordan. And then the man caring for their every whim Andy the concierge.
With such a great mix of characters you’re guaranteed to love at least one.
My favourite pairing was Aniela and Jon, two characters who haven’t experienced real happiness. With troubled pasts and sadness within their lives it seemed right that they would find themselves drawn to each othe. WOW were they drawn to each other. They offer some of the most explosive sex scenes I’ve ever read.
Rebecca deals with so much within this book. We have blackmail, murder, scandal, homosexuality and heartache. No part of the story feels rushed and nothing’s left as a loose end.
This new year be good, but remember it doesn’t hurt to be a little bad once in a while.
