The Dark Glamour by Gabriella Pierc
Jane Boyle thought she’d met the man of her dreams. But it’s hard to live happily ever after when you realise your new mother-in-law is literally a witch. Who is determined to steal the magical powers you didn’t even know you had. When Jane discovers that the man she fell in love with is a mere pawn in her mother-in-laws plan, she flees. Now Jane is alone and on the run, hiding out in Manhattan. But Jane can’t hide forever…
One magical Park Avenue makeover later and Jane is ready to settle the score with her witch of a mother-in-law. In her new guise as Ella the Brazilian beauty, Jane meets the devilishly handsome André. The magical blood that teems through her veins draws her inexplicably towards this mysterious man. But is André all he seems? And can Jane make it into the witches’ den to overthrow the most evil of witches?
Its sometimes the case that when reading a book which forms part of a series or trilogy, you‘re disappointed by where the story takes you.
I can honestly say that this didn’t happen with ‘The Dark Glamour’, in fact it just got better.
Following on from ‘666 Park Avenue’ Jane‘s left hiding from the Dorans. With the whole of New York hearing some story about her and Malcolm’s disappearance the only person she can turn to is Dee.
With Dee on her side and some new magical discoveries Jane plans to go head to head with the Dorans. But what she learns along the way puts more people at risk and leaves Jane wondering if she chose the wrong path.
‘The Dark Glamour’ is a fast paced read that had me guessing right to the very end and even now I am left waiting to find out what will happen in the next book. Don’t worry if you haven’t read ‘666 Park Avenue’ (although I would highly recommend it) this book fills you in on what’s happened up till now. And without boring those that have read the first one.
A magical must read, that is full of glamour and mystery.
