Birmingham Botanical Gardens – Westbourne Rd, Birmingham B15 3TR
On Wednesday 29th of November I was invited to attend Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens for the opening night of the Christmas Trail which runs till the 30th of December.
Before entering the illuminated trail we were invited to a short reception which allowed us to hear about the teamwork that went into creating the magic, the installation alone features more than 60,000 individual lights and even has a singing tree.
When entering the trail I was captivated by the beauty of the lights and the effort that had clearly gone into this breathtaking christmas experience.
I found myself in awe of the creative minds behind the illuminations and eager to capture as much of the scenery as I could on camera.
The night encapsulated winter…. there was something about being wrapped up warm and strolling around the gardens on a cold crisp night, with the lights dancing and the option to toast marshmallows over an open fire. It really was the stuff of winters dreams and lets not forget that you could also purchase hot chocolate, along with other tasty treats.
Everything about the evening was wonderful, from the smells in the air to the atmosphere. But my most favourite part of it all had to be the gardens that danced in time to the music, I found this to be truly moving and felt like it allowed for a moment of contemplation as you take in your surroundings..
A truly magical way to start the festivities and one I would highly recommend!
