On October 31st, Adam got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I still can’t believe that I am engaged, that someone chose me to be their forever.
My proposal was perfect, it was magically meaningful to us and I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
You maybe reading this and preparing to ask the one you love to marry you, firstly congratulations! You’ve found someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with, and that is truly a wonderful feeling.
But, before your mind wanders to planning for the big day, you have to plan for the big event that comes first, and that’s the proposal. Something that you will want to make special, here are a few tips to help you plan the perfect proposal.
One of the things that you need to look at is the location. You don’t want to just do it anywhere. If there is somewhere significant to you and your partner, why not do it here? It could be the place where you had your first date, or it could be where you shared your first kiss. There are endless possibilities of special places that you can do this. If you have the extra cash, you could even fly your partner off to their favourite place in the world and propose here. But, as long as you make sure that it is somewhere special, your partner is bound to love it.
The ring that you propose with is going to be the one that your partner wears for the rest of their life so you should try to make sure that they like the ring you choose. Remember that when you are making the decision on which one to get, you are looking for the one your partner would love, instead of the one you like.
Your partner may have dropped hints through the time you two have been together as to what kind of ring they would like. If they have, try to stick to this. Even though the ring isn’t the most important part, it is a symbol of your love and it never hurts to make sure it’s pretty.
Capture The Moment
You are likely going to remember this day and this moment for the rest of your lives. However, you should still look into getting someone to photograph the occasion without your partner knowing about it. This way, the photos will be authentic and will show the true moment when you became engaged. If this is something that you want to look into, you can hire the services of somewhere like Andrea Matone so that you know you are getting the best quality photos of your engagement.
Make It A Surprise
If you can, the best thing that you can do would be to make the proposal a complete surprise. It will be much more overwhelming and special if your partner has no idea that it is coming. As well as this, they will know how much time and effort you put into planning it, which makes it more magical.
Hopefully, these little tips have helped you to plan the perfect proposal for your partner. Remember, everything about it should focus on them, so make sure that everything you prepare is in some way related to your relationship, or the things they love.
On October 31st I went to the nature centre with my mum and niece. As we were walking around I found myself sharing happy memories of my childhood trips to see the animals. And reminiscing about my first date with Adam, where without him realising, he had chosen to take me to one of my favourite places.
We walked around the winding path taking in the animals and then as turned a corner I heard my name, I turned to my right and there was Adam, down on one knee. His words were perfect and so was my ring.
What made my proposal extra special was that my mum and niece were there. Having been in cahoots with Adam my mum had suggested a trip out with my niece and oddly enough her video camera too.
Make your proposal perfect for you and the one you love.
